EEG analysis module

Our EEG analysis module allows the scientist to generate FFT power spectrums, perform sleep scoring and detect seizures from EEG traces.
It reads files produced by IOX2 software (data and synchronized video files) and non emka data file formats, including DSI™ telemetry data files.
GLP modules can be added to provide full GLP compliance.

Description
Power spectrum analysis
- Power in up to 6 adjustable frequency ranges
- Absolute and relative power values
- Versatile scheduling of analysis, epoch lengths, overlap factor, windowing

Seizure detection
From single or multi-lead EEG signal, the epilepsy module automatically detects epileptic seizures, combining multiple user adjusted criteria and logical modes:
- All detected seizures are logged in a table
- Manual edition of seizures limits
- Invalid seizures can be deleted
- Undetected seizures can be created
- Adjust thresholds on the fly
- Valid seizures can be exported to text file
- Heat map visualization (up to 6 maps simultaneously displayed)

Sleep scoring
This throughout automated module differentiates between four sleep stages (active wake, quiet wake, slow wave sleep and rapid eye movement) and calculates global sleep scores. The software applies logical rules to attribute 1 out of 4 sleep stages to each epoch. Threshold values are defined and applicable to any parameter from any input. You can adjust, on the fly, thresholds and see the effect on sleep scoring.
Automated sleep scoring allows for further behavioral analysis through sleep staging that can be overlaid on signal screen. FFT spectral information can also be overlaid on the signal screen to observe changes between epoch.

Neurobehavioral observations
Integrated video capabilities facilitate behavioral observations without the confounding effects of investigator interaction. Our secured video data is embedded in our data files and can be linked with other physiological signals, allowing the scientist to click on a change in a physiological parameter and observe the associated behavior. The system features adjustable image resolution, and infrared recording for nighttime observations.
